Loretta's never has been and never will be just a race. It's an event. Welcome to our house.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Nerves already begin to surface on Friday's practice day. Seems everyone in the world has come to race.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Time to check everything out...even to make sure your front number plate is on straight.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)So you thought Loretta's was just a bunch of racers racing. Think again. Let the parade begin.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Organized by a host of youth parents, the Kids Karnival began after practice with a parade of karts and such.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Some, brought along their girl friend for the parade ride.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)After the parade, top Pros such as John Natalie joined in the fun with the kids as they played games and won prizes at the pavillion.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Later on it was time for the contingency program. Organizers had dozens of sponsors to donate awards and the kids gathered to grab their share.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Not a bad take. A helmet for a special youth lady racer.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)And the lady that brought it all about. The queen of the Kidz Karnival, Freida Rozelle of Cookville, TN...Thanks Ms. Freida!

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Saturday morning, bright and early, time to hit the track. It's race day.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Over 800 entries chased each other around the newly re-designed Loretta Lynns MX circuit.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)The youth classes were crammed packed with entries close to the 350 mark.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Day one done. Time to relax and cool off before heading out for the Saturday night activities.

Rocking the Tennessee hills, upcoming country music sensation, Krista Marie, shook the house with a cameo performance that brought big wigs from the Nashville music scene to Loretta's. This girl's got grit.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Sunday morning. Time to claim your terrain around the track. It's Pro show time. Kelly Tenedini of Maxxis chose a shady spot.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Grit, grind and get going. Every Pro, just as every amateur and youth racer, wants to win Loretta's.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Kawasaki's Josh Creamer shows off his "seat of the pants" style of racing as he overtakes Baldwin/Honda's Josh Upperman in pro moto one.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Can Am's Jeremy Lawson and Yamaha's Pat Brown do some dogging in the dirt.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Chad Wienen may have won the first Pro moto but Josh Upperman sat in the shade waiting to collect his well deserved "holeshot" money.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)After Pro moto one the amateurs went back to work. Ron Laurine of Pennsylvania plays the part of a nervous dad as his daughter prepares to race.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Wave after wave of amateur and youth class launched off the Dirt Days starting gate.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Proud parents gathered around the podium to watch their racers being awarded their plaques and championship medals.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)"Factory Sam", aka Sam Rowe, takes his share of the limelight on the podium in the youth classes.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)After a two hour break, the stage is set for the second Pro moto.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)As always, if you want to get an eye full of roost and watch the best ATV Pro racers in the nation, just get a spot around the fence and feel the intensity.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Suzuki's Chad Wienen repeated his performance from 2007 by winning the Pro class in 2008. Second went to Suzuki's 2008 National ATV MX Champion Dustin Wimmer and third went to Kawasaki's Josh Creamer.

(click right side of photo for next image / click left side of photo for previous image)Then it was time to go home. The 2008 Loretta Lynn's ATV Dirt Days were in the books. As for this parting shot, uh, all we can say is..."Have a good one Bub...Hope your mother doesn't see this essay...You might have some explaining to do."
