Josh Frederick, 2007 WORCS Pro Champion, didn't take long to prove his worth as a Pro and as a newly signed member of the Can-Am/Motoworks Team. In mid-January, he, along with teammate Brandon Smith took their new Can-Am DS450 rides to victory at the '08 PIAA/WORCS 8 Hour Endurance Race in Surprise, AZ. A couple of weeks later, Frederick returned to Speedworld Motocross in Surprise and kicked off the '08 WORCS series with a win in the Pro class. "Today wasn't really racing. It was more like surviving, "Frederick stated after completing the grueling, rain soaked and mud clogged Arizona course.

Then came WORCS Round 2 in Mesquite, Nevada on February 22-24. And, we ask you..."What avid sports fan doesn't enjoy a good comeback story?"

Race fans in attendance at round 2 of the WORCS series got just that, one of the greatest comebacks in WORCS racing history. Setting the stage, off the line Factory Yamaha's Dustin Nelson snatched the holeshot, followed by a couple of nasty turn one collisions. #1 Motoworks Can-am rider Josh Frederick got a mid-pack start, riding in front of about 50 of his hometown friends and family. At the end of lap 1 Nelson had built a substantial lead, with #5 Levi Marana about 20 seconds back. Frederick still running mid-pack, pulled off the course, and into the Can-am pit. Josh dismounted the bike, and the team feverishly tried to track down a faulty cooling fan. Frederick looked on helplessly as the entire field roared past him. The crew fixed the problem and sent Josh on his way, but in dead last, 22nd place.

For the next 4 laps, Frederick began to pick his way through the pack. At the half mark he was running 9th. On lap 6 he went on a terror streak making up 5 spots up to 4th. Lap 7 moved him into striking range in 2nd. Shortly thereafter it happened, the pass was made in the off-road section, erasing a seemingly impossible deficit. What a way to get his 2nd straight win! Dustin Nelson finished a solid 2nd, Levi Marana 3rd. Josh Frederick is truly incredible, and is definitely is one of the fastest men on the planet!
