ROUND 3

ATVA Extreme Dirt Track
Birch Creek Motorsports
Danville, Virginia
June 14th, 2008

Harold Goodman seems to be establishing a dominant charge for the championship at the 2008 ATVA Extreme Dirt Track Nationals. After a slight mistake during round one in Arkansas which cost him the win, Goodman has put the last two rounds in his back pocket with run away wins. At Danville, Virginia during round three of the series, Goodman and his Honda held off the attack of South Dakota's Michael Coburn to put in his second consecutive win.

Coburn, who, like Goodman, made a mistake or so at the opening round, has regained his ride during the second and third rounds, finishing second in the Pro main at both events.

Brad Riley of North Carolina made the short trip to Birch Creek and added yet another third place win to his Pro standings. With a third place finish at each of the first three rounds, Riley has set a consistent pace for those attempting to break into the top three. He seems set on guarding his domain and breaking his hold could prove difficult for those who challenge.

Opening round winner Mitch Reynolds, acquiring his first ever Pro class win, has slipped from second in the standings to fourth in only one round. His performance at Virginia didn't turn out as he expected and he was only able to add five points to his series' tally for his efforts.

After the first three rounds, the top five Pro rankings were: 1. Goodman - 85 points (2 wins) ; 2. Michael Coburn - 64 points (2 seconds) ; 3. Brad Riley - 63 points (3 thirds) ; 4. Mitch Reynolds - 53 points (1 win); 5. Ryan Partee - 44 points.
