I'm going to keep this short, simple and straight to the point. Take a look at the photos accompanying this editorial. What you see is something that in the past would have never happened. Take a good look and you'll see on track rivals discussing what took place on the track. Some of the things were agressive, but weren't down right wrong. They were just things done in the heat of racing and that's all.
Everyone who keeps up with the MX Pro national scene knows that certain Pros don't like other certain Pros. This is human nature. We don't all like everyone. If we did, we'd all be alike and that would really be a boring environment to live in. Our differences make us unique and Pro ATV racers are just like everyone else. They all have their distinct "on and off" track characteristics, likes and dislikes, their own unique personalities.
After Sunday's motos at Pell City, I witnessed Pro after Pro approaching their fellow Pros and discussing what transpired on the track. Some actions took some Pros out of contention and other's were just impressive passing moves which got the passed Pros attention. This level of "PROFESSIONALISM" between the Pros was a first for my eyes in over six years of covering the nationals. Yes, we've entered into an era where highly paid Pros understand that what happens on the track is just a part of doing business and that afterwards a brief discussion between themselves clears the way for higher levels of professionalism in the future.
