He may have bobbled in round 1 but knowing Harold Goodman is to know that he's pretty sure of what he can do and 99% of the time goes out and does it. After dropping the opening round win in Arkansas to Mitch Reynolds in the Pro class, Goodman stated. "I was leading for the first 5 laps and then made a mistake."
His acceptance and his ability to assess his race fate and look it square in the face is one of the factors that motivates this veteran of both EDT and MX Pro ATV racing.
Round 2 of this year's ATVA EDT series found Goodman in his usual form.
To make a long story short, the nasty weather that was all over Missouri during the weekend circled around the OMR facility just as Goodman circled around the Pro competition. On track reports told of Goodman checking out early and literally putting a spanking on the other Pros in the main on Saturday evening.
Goodman is back and dead set on defending his 2007 Extreme Dirt Track National Championship. If you don't believe us, just ask him. If he tells you he's going to do it, bank on it.
The remainder of the Pro podium in Missouri found South Dakota's Michael Coburn once again returning to the top three with a second place overall finish in the main. Brad Riley of South Carolina did a repeat of his performance at round one and came home with the third place podium position. Round one winner, Mitch Reynolds, finished fourth behind Riley.
After the first two rounds, unofficially, had Goodman taking over the points lead, Reynolds falling to second and Riley hanging in third.
