Round #3 for the Ultimate Quad MX Championships at Wittenberg, WI would see some improved weather over the previous rounds. In fact, this was to be the second stop at Wittenberg but due to bad weather the first stop was cancelled twice. The weather wasn’t the greatest with the wind and overcast, but still a good day for racing. The brief shower late in the afternoon was actually welcomed as it came just as the track needed watering.

Weather aside, the stage was set for some interesting racing. The 2008 season brought about the introduction of a Pro-am Open class. The class had a total of 12 entries for the day. During practice the smoothest rider appeared to be Cody Janssen. There were only a handful of riders doing the triple where the old finishing line was, and Cody was one of them. The first moto proved Cody to be the fastest out of the gate and would maintain a sizeable lead for the entire moto. Finishing order for the rest of the top 5 were Mark Delahaut, Eddie Degeneffe, Bill Berger, and Jonathan Sedelbauer respectively in that order.

Eddie Degeneffe was charging hard to the front before he tangled with Bill Berger in a corner. Both quads stalled momentarily which allowed Mark Delahaut to secure his position in 2nd. After the first moto was complete, it looked like the stage was set for a good battler between Degeneffe and Janssen. Cody Janssen secured another first moto win in the 16-24A class while Degeneffe took the first moto win in Open A.

The second Pro-am Open moto would end up being a repeat of the first. Cody Janssen was able to pull out front from the start and secure another moto win and take the overall in the Pro-am Open class. Eddie Degeneffe was determined to take the win from Cody but was not able to mount a hard enough charge to make the pass. Degeneffe did secure a solid 2nd place finish in moto #2 and 2nd overall for the day. Rounding out the rest of the top 5 for moto #2 was Bill Berger, Jonathan Sedelbauer, and Matt Mullen. Adam Warren was able to pull out a solid 6,6 finish for the day to give him a 5th overall and 16 point lead in 1st place for the season with 75 points. Adam Warren was also able to pull out a 1,1 finish in the +25 Vet A class where he also currently sits in first for the season with a solid 31 point lead.
