Can-Am and Arctic Cat took the series seriously by showing up on Friday’s practice session. Both Can-Am and Arctic Cat spent hours practicing working on their race setups for Saturday’s big race.  Can-Am brought in their big guns GNCC Utility Open winner Bryan Buckhannon and GNCC XC1 rider Chris Bithell. Arctic Cat brought back their winner from WPSA Jesse West, and other team members Josh West, and Patrick Brons.  Teams worked hard on set-up late into the night on Friday making sure they would not have any flaws on Saturday.

Saturday track officials decided to roll Sunday’s finals into Saturday’s race schedule.

Polaris rider Brock Lyons won easily over the competition in the Pro Sport XC1 class Saturday.

In the Pro Utility Class Round 1 heat 1 went to Chris Bithell from Can-Am, and heat 2 went to Josh West from Arctic Cat. Round 2 was a repeat of the same winners. In the finals there were nine riders at the line as one rider (Zac Zakowski) had to pull out as he got water into his air box.  Can-Am’s (Warnert Racing) rider Chris Bithell grabbed the holeshot award, but with a mistake by Bithell the lead was changed over to Arctic Cat’s rider Josh West early. As Josh was leading, his brother Jesse was trailing him and shortly over came his brother’s lead and Jesse never looked back. Arctic Cat’s riders finished 1st (Jesse West), 2nd (Josh West) and 5th (Patrick Brons).  Can-Am’s (Warnert Racing) riders finished 3rd (Bryan Buckhannon) and 8th (Chris Bithell).  Yamaha’s riders finished 4th (Kyle Fiebelkorn) and 6th (Jason Nucech). Polaris riders (Rath Racing) finished 7th (Frank Batista), and 9th (Daryl Rath).

Jesse West from Arctic Cat was quoted from ATVriders.com by saying “the Sandbox Arena was a great place to race.  The crew did an unbelievable job at building the track. This is a venue both fans and racers love.”

The Sandbox Arena wants to thank those who attended the event and look forward to the rest of the series.
